From the mouths of babes…

Two days ago, my little girl was upset because her daddy had scolded her. I came up behind her, made a silly noise, tickled her neck and made her laugh. My son, who watched the entire event, leaned over, gave me a hug and said “Mommy, you always know how to make everyone feel better”. That was the most amazing compliment I have received in a very long time.

His comment made me think – how easy it is to make someone smile. Just a kind word, silly face or a warm hug can inevitably do the trick every time. And it is so simple to do. It doesn’t cost a thing or take a lot of time or effort. If we all tried to make someone smile every day, just think how happy we would be.

You can also make someone smile even if they are not near you. You can send them a hug or smile or silly face in a card or email – again it doesn’t take a lot of time, effort or money but the results are priceless!

Make a resolution to make someone smile every day in 2009. That is much more rewarding then vowing to eat less carbs! (And a lot easier to keep!).

Happy 2009! Keep smiling!
